General Policy Overview

The Asylum clan and InfectedMinds.com rules can be viewed as being cross-domain in nature, meaning that a rule in the forums may also be attributed to actions in the game servers and vice-versa.

Becoming a member of the Asylum clan

The clan Asylum of InfectedMinds only accepts new members by invitation. Please do not simply request to enter this clan. If you wish to be a member and be considered for an invitation to join, you'll need to play often in our servers, always play within our rules, register to our forums and post often within the guidelines set here in order to allow us to get to know you. The Asylum clan is a family-like community and to become a member you also must be viewed as family. We are NOT a competition clan. We do NOT compete in matches or ladders. We are simply a group of good friends who play together in a Nice Clean Fun atmosphere. No player less than 21 years of age will be considered for clan membership. Previously existing underage members are grand fathered in, having been here prior to this amendment. Any submitted age will be decided as being truthful by their voice. Thus, a player who does not utilize a microphone will not be considered for clan membership.

Registration suggestion

We suggest to people who are registering to our forums that they provide honest information about themselves in their profiles. The vast majority of the people entering these forums were invited by a clan member because we believe in having people come here who are likeminded to us. One of those traits is honesty.

Forum Policy

All forum members must follow these rules at all times in order to remain active here and keep from being banned from the site. All new registrations are directed to this page before getting any further access to this site, therefore nobody may use ignorance of any policy as an excuse for behavior that is met with disciplinary action.

1. Show respect for others. Do not slander, falsely accuse or otherwise demean other people. Do not make racial, religious or sexual comments regarding others.
2. Do not use the "F-word" or any variation of it in these forums. If you cannot adhere to this language policy then you are not in the least bit welcome here. Anyone choosing to push the edge with inappropriate language will be considered as someone wanting to be banned.
3. Everyone's opinion is a good one (even if they are wrong), they have a right to voice it, provided that the author remains within the confines of the policies set forth here.
4. All decisions made by site administrators are regarded as final. If an admin chooses to reverse a decision that he/she alone made, it will be honored.
5. Any moderators selected by the administration will have full control over the areas they are assigned to moderate. All moderation will be supported by the admins.
6. Spam will be met with an immediate ban.
7. Pornography will be met with an immediate ban.
8. Recruiting is reserved for only the Asylum clan. No other clans should attempt to recruit members in any domain operated by the Asylum clan or InfectedMinds.com at any time.
9. Registration is forced to keep out worms and links to unwanted sites such as those that show pornographic material.
10. The clan tag A|M is reserved for use by clan members only. Do not put on our tag without first being accepted into membership. Forum membership is not the same as clan membership.

Game Server Policy

1. Use language appropriate for the minor children who play on our server. Any use of the f-word or an abbreviation for the f-word can result in a ban without further warning.
2. Do not wear the A|M tag unless you are an established member of our clan.
3. Always be respectful of others.
4. Recruiting for Asylum clan ONLY.
5. No names allowed which advertise websites or otherwise break our rules.
6. Spamming of any kind will result in being removed without warning.
7. Spawn camp somewhere else! We now have a top of the line spawn protection and chat protection mod hooked up. However, anyone waiting to kill someone as they leave this protection will be viewed upon as spawn killing and will be banned.
8. All people playing as "unnamed" will be renamed either by themselves or by us. You likely will not like the names we will utilize to correct this.
9. No references to drug usage by chat, voice or in player's names.
10. There will be NO killing during map explorations and times where someone is trying to offer new information to players in game. An example would be if the member were to stumble upon a secret room and wanted to show the other players.just added to MOTD on both DM servers.
11. No mining or purposely shooting into or from known spawn areas.

Clan Members Policy

1. All clan members are strictly expected to uphold all the policies of the clan and it's domains.
2. Clan members must be active in at least one of the four domains of this clan. Any excessive absence from all domains, as determined by senior administrators, may result in a member’s account being revoked.
3. Clan Members should report with as much information as is possible to an admin if any person is abusing any of the policies on any clan owned domain.
4. Asylum members must not be affiliated with another tag wearing clan that plays any Half-Life 2 Deathmatch, Half-Life 2 Coop or any other game that our servers may support.
5. The Asylum clan will operate democratically as much as possible at the level of junior admin/moderator and above. However, the founders of the clan will retain ultimate control over various situations as they deem necessary.
6. Asylum clan members are expected to behave respectfully when playing in servers outside our own domains, playing within the posted rules or MOTD's and playing in a manner that sheds a positive light on our clan as a whole.

Donations

This organization provides its membership and player base with 2 servers. This clan will not accept donations of additional servers. Any member or friend wanting to help us out can do so by donating to one of the existing 2 servers or to the forum web site. Our annual cost of operations is paid for completely by donations. Donation links are located near the bottom of the board index (front page) of our forums.

Donations made to the forum web site are nonrefundble and are used strictly to offset the costs normally paid for by clan Founder ShadowSeeker.

Donations to each of the two game servers are refundable ONLY if the server is permanently shut down. In such an event, all unused and lastly provided funds will be credited to the source(s) that they came from such as credit cards, debit cards or PayPal accounts. If your account used for the purpose of making the donation is no longer valid or expired, the funding will not be refundable. Refunds cannot be made by request.
